Apax Roofing Co. was founded in 2004 by brothers Jake and Ryan Cortez, both third-generation roofers who grew up learning the trade from their father in San Antonio. They moved to Austin with a truck, a crew of three, and a straightforward mission: do the job right and treat people honestly.
Twenty years later, we've completed over 2,400 residential and commercial roofing projects across the Austin metro area. We've grown to a team of 34 — but the same values that Jake and Ryan started with still run every job we take on.
We earned GAF Master Elite certification in 2009 — a designation held by fewer than 3% of roofing contractors nationally — and we've maintained it every year since. That certification isn't just a badge. It means better material access, extended manufacturer warranties, and a standard of workmanship we're contractually required to uphold.
